Responsibilities

William Gerhard is a Graduate Assistant for the Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity (CEED) Office. He manages the inVenTs Studios, a space for students to design and create their ideas. He is responsible for recruiting companies to come and host innovation activities for students, training students on Studio equipment, and assisting students with projects. Additionally, William works with professors on campus to host a yearly InVenTs Grand Challenge.

Education

William will received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in Dec, 2016.  He will be working on a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a tentative focus on autonomous systems.

Background

William has been a part of CEED since his freshman year in fall 2012.  As an undergraduate, William worked with CEED's Galileo program as a mentor, a committee member and later as a member of InVenTs Leadership team, where he help students use the InVenTs Lab space.  As a Graduate Assistant, William has continued to support the InVenTs Studios.
