Responsibilities

Alazar is a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity. They currently serve as an instructor for the Galileo seminar for first-year engineering students. They also work to improve LGBTQAI+ representation in the CEED community.

Education

Alazar came to Virginia Tech in Fall 2019. He earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with the second cohort in 2023. He is pursuing an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on Bioinformatics.

Background

Alazar has been with CEED since their freshman year. They have moved up the leadership of Galipatia becoming both a mentor and a mentor liaison. They are now joining the instructor's team to enrich the experience for first-year students. When not contributing to CEED they have been aiding Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Society in its revival and is a member of the Murali group.
