John Ralston

Responsibilities

John serve as the Associate Director of Business Development for the college. John is also part of Virginia Tech LINK, Center for Advancing Partnerships. In this position, John is responsible for supporting industry partnerships and engagement as they relate to key strategic activities. This includes research collaborations, corporate giving, recruiting and more.

Education

John earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from James Madison University.   

Background

John joined Virginia Tech in 2022 and is embedded in the College of Engineering. He brings to Virginia Tech a wide range of experience forging dynamic partnerships between universities and industry. He joined LINK from the University of Virginia where he was the director of corporate relations in the School of Engineering and Applied Science. His prior experience includes higher education fundraising at Team Services where his clients included Georgetown University, University of Maryland Baltimore County, and others across the country.
