Abigail Middleton
Responsibilities
Abigail Middleton is the Assistant Director, Pre-College Outreach and Recruitment for the Center for Engineering Excellence and Discovery (CEED). Her work focuses on developing and managing summer engineering-focused precollege programs and building partnerships that expand opportunities for future students.
She works closely with K–12 schools, community organizations, and nonprofit groups, serving as a liaison between the College of Engineering and external partners to build pathways into engineering for prospective students.
Education
Abigail holds a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor's degree in Anthropology and Communications and Media from Northeastern Illinois University.
Background
Abigail joined CEED in January 2026. Prior to that role, she was Administrative Coordinator for the Center for Humanities at Virginia Tech. Before joining the university, Abigail was a preschool teacher and founded and directed a summer camp program in Blacksburg.
She brings a passion for community outreach and program development to her work, with particular interest in creating engaging, accessible learning experiences and building partnerships that connect students with new opportunities.
