Responsibilities

Alex is a Graduate Assistant in the Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity. He is a part of the Galileo and Hypatia support team and is responsible for managing the inVenTs studio in Hoge Hall.

Education

Alex received a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech in 2017. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering working on robotics systems in the TREC lab and a master’s degree in business administration with a focus in business analytics.

Background

Alex joined CEED in the fall of 2018 working with safety training teams in the inVenTs studio. Originally from Virginia Beach, he started at Tidewater Community College before coming to Virginia Tech where he worked in various research labs and engineering teams around campus while pursuing his undergraduate degree. Currently he is working to complete his thesis in the TREC lab through the development of ATHENA, a humanoid robot, and working with NASA for his business analytics capstone project.
