Emily Hutchins

Responsibilities

Emily is the college’s director of development, leading the fundraising division and serving as a liaison between the alumni, development office and the departments of the College of Engineering as we strive to meet our mission of providing excellence in engineering education, research, and public service. Her duties include managing the team of development officers to help achieve our ambitious fundraising goals for the college.

Education

Emily holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from University of Mary Washington and has a Masters in Nonprofit Management from Regis University. 

Background

Emily joined the Virginia Tech community in 2014 from the College of Natural Resources and Environment, most recently as the Assistant Dean of Advancement. Her prior experience includes major gift fundraising at Denver Zoo and serving as Director of the Conservancy at Mountain Lake Lodge in Giles County, Va.
