Responsibilities
Candido serves as a Graduate Assistant for Global Online Engagement. He supports the activities and initiatives of the Global Engineering, Engagement, and Research Office, develops and implements the office’s Global Ambassadors Program, and supports online engagement.
Education
Candido began his education career as an Engineer at New River Community College before transferring to Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he obtained his Bachelor’s in Business Management. Candido then moved into teaching, obtaining a Master's in Career and Technical Education (CTE) with a focus on Business and Information Technology (BIT) at Virginia Tech, where he is currently working on his PhD in Curriculum and Instruction's Instructional Design Technology (IDT) program.
Background
Candido is originally from a small country in Southern Africa, roughly the size of Texas, called Zambia. He belongs to the Tonga and the Leya tribes and is fluent in 5 Zambian languages. During his time at Virginia Tech, he has been actively involved with the Instructional Technology Students Association (ITSA), where he serves as the President.
