Responsibilities

Angela joined the College of Engineering Advancement in December 2016.  She serves as a liaison between the alumni, development office, and the departments of the College of Engineering as we strive to meet our mission of inventing the future through engineering education, research, and public service. Her duties include overseeing the alumni engagement program of the College of Engineering. She will focus on providing opportunities to engage the over 70,000 alumni of the college while educating them on the importance of giving back and getting involved.

Education

Angela earned her M.P.A. in 2011 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in Public Administration. In 2001, she earned her B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Theatre from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA.

Background

Angela joined Virginia Tech in 2013 as the director of alumni relations for the College of Liberal Arts overseeing the college’s alumni program, the college’s student Ambassador program, and other college events. Prior to coming to Blacksburg, Angela spent seven years with the University of Tennessee Alumni Association as the Senior Director of Alumni Chapters and Outreach.  From 2005 to 2007, Angela served as the Assistant Director of Development and Alumni for the University of Tennessee College of Law, and from 2003 to 2005 as the Assistant Director of Development for the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She began her career in development working with the National Symphony Orchestra at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC.

Angela has served the advancement profession from 2015-2017 as a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III Board and from 2011-2017 District III annual Conference Planning Committee. She served as co-chair for the CASE District III 2016 conference. She is serving as immediate past president of the University of Mary Washington Alumni Association and is an active member of the Junior League of Roanoke Valley, serving as a membership advisor.
