Responsibilities

Albert is a Graduate Assistant for the Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity. He serves as the graduate coordinator of the Peer Mentoring Program. He is also a part of the College of Engineering Dean's Team.

Education

Albert earned his B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering in May of 2022 and is currently pursuing his Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering.

Background

Albert is from Dale City, VA. On campus, he has been involved in numerous undergraduate research opportunities, serving as a former co-lead on one of Virginia Tech's rocketry design teams. Currently, Albert is leading an effort to reinstate the former CEED inVenTs Rocketry Team. Despite being a materials science and engineering student, Albert is very interested in combining his interests in aerospace with his current materials science and engineering research to revolutionize the way humanity views space exploration. At the age of 16, Albert first performed research with NASA through the Virginia Earth System Science Scholars (VESSS) Program and Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars (VASTS) Program. Abert found both of these free programs, provided to Virginia high school juniors and seniors by the Virginia Space Grant Consortium, to be rewarding experiences. Since then, Albert has worked with NASA to perform research in data science, planetary science, atmospheric science, and engineering design. Albert is also very passionate about service and mentorship and is always open to helping students reach their full potential.
