Suzanne serves as the assistant director of communications for the Virginia Tech College of Engineering. With a decade’s worth of journalism experience, Suzanne focuses on strategic, creative storytelling on behalf of the college, which includes writing, reporting, and editing stories, elevating their reach externally, and collaborating with university relations, departmental communicators, external partners, and other stakeholders. Through these efforts and their integration into long-term strategic communications planning, Suzanne aims to provide a window into the research and impact of students and faculty, alumni journeys, cross-disciplinary projects, and more.
Suzanne holds a Master of Arts in film studies from Hollins University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and philosophy from Roanoke College.
Suzanne accepted her position with Virginia Tech in 2022. Prior to joining the university, she worked at The Roanoke Times in a variety of editing roles, most recently as features editor overseeing the newspaper’s special sections. She has experience managing both recurring and one-time print publications, as well as coordinating editorial content strategies on digital platforms.
