Ruth Marquardt

Responsibilities

Her duties include the cultivation and stewardship of major gifts to the College of Engineering. She serves as liaison between the alumni, development office, and departments of the College of Engineering as we strive to meet our mission of providing excellence in engineering education, research and public service. With over ten years of experience in fundraising, Ruth’s knowledge and experience are essential to developing and strengthening relationships and growing the pipeline of major gifts for the success and mission of the college.

Education

Ruth holds a Bachelor of Arts and Spanish from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration from The George Washington University.

Background

Ruth joined the Virginia Tech community in January 2022 from the Elliott School of International Affairs at GWU in Washington D.C. Her prior experience includes donor development at the Marine Corps Association Foundation, Maryland Public Television and other healthcare nonprofits.
