Responsibilities

Jeff is the Associate Director of Instructional Design and Technology for the College of Engineering Dean’s Office, providing leadership for research, support, and training in the area of technology used in education and Virginia Tech Engineering Online (VTEO). Jeff coordinates troubleshooting efforts across technologies, support units, technicians, and vendors in order to best navigate issues across multiple systems and integrations. Guiding and supporting faculty to incorporate best practices into their online and in-class technology usage is the primary focus of his team.

Background

Previously, he served as the Dean’s office’s Associate Director of Web Technologies, focusing on CMS administrator, web content strategy, and governance. 

Jeff has over twenty-three years of experience in web and print design, online course development, web application development, database administration, and project management in e-commerce and education/e-learning. He has focused on higher education for the last 20 years and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Education focusing on Instructional Technology.
