Rebekah Riddle
Responsibilities
Becki serves as a Graduate Assistant for Global Programs in the Office of Global Engineering, Engagement, and Research (GEER). She focuses on developing and delineating current and new study abroad opportunities for engineering undergraduate majors with exchange, direct-enroll, and VT international partners.
Education
Becki holds a M.Eng degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia. During her time there, she focused on water engineering, behavioral design, and sustainable infrastructure. She also designed several serious games that focused on teaching children sustainability principles. Becki also holds a B.S. in Biological Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech, where her main focus was on environmental health and water quality.
Background
Becki is pursuing her doctoral degree in Planning, Governance, and Globalization in the School of Public and International Affairs at Virginia Tech. She is currently a trainee in the Convergence at the Interfaces of Policy, Data Science, Environmental Science and Engineering for Combating Antimicrobial Resistance National Science Research Traineeship (CIP-CAR NRT). Prior to pursuing a PhD, Becki has been involved in fields such as pharmaceutical engineering, the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) sector, and working with K-12 students and their families to help them succeed. She is passionate about diverse ways of learning and developing new and innovative curricula.
