As the Senior IT Security and Compliance Manager at Virginia Polytechnic University, I lead the effort to ensure the security and integrity of the university's information systems. My responsibilities include managing and enforcing security policies, conducting risk assessments, and overseeing incident response and business continuity planning. I collaborate with IT teams to develop strategic processes that protect critical data and enhance service delivery.

I hold a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science. My education is complemented by an ISSP Certificate from Kennesaw State University, along with professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, and CISM. These qualifications have equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of information security principles and business management.

Background

My professional journey includes significant roles in Industry and higher education Lead Security Engineer where I led security projects and managed risk and vulnerability processes. I also have experience as an Information Security Analyst at a major health organization, where I developed and maintained a strategic Information Security Program. My career began as an Associate IT Security Consultant, where I provided Governance, Risk, and Compliance services to various industries.

Throughout my career, I have been committed to advancing organizational security postures, enhancing operational efficiency, and optimizing costs. My work has consistently focused on building robust security frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of security awareness across the organizations I have served.
