A Hands-On, Minds-On Approach

Freshmen students admitted to the College of Engineering begin their academic journey in the general engineering program, hosted by the Department of Engineering Education. Students then declare a major in one of 15 majors within the College, typically entering their majors as sophomores after meeting initial program requirements. Undergraduate research, mentoring, and academic success workshops are among the vast opportunities available through the College in support of undergraduate students.

The College emphasizes high impact experiential learning opportunities across all of its undergraduate degree-granting programs. Students have access to a variety of hands-on activities, including laboratory research, entrepreneurial programs, and internships.
