Responsibilities

Dr. Cranwell serves as Global Engagement Faculty Fellow in the College of Engineering and will be implementing several new global experiential learning initiatives for students, supporting international partnerships, and coordinating new strategies for global initiatives.

Background

Lindy has been supporting international students for over 20 years and has been creating and managing global programs since 2009. Lindy currently serves as Director of International & Graduate Education in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering. In addition to working with the CEE graduate program, Lindy develops and administers global programs for engineering students and faculty and serves in a leadership role for the College of Engineering’s Academy for Global Engineering. Lindy is a member of NAFSA (International Educators) and AIEA (Association of International Education Administrators).

Education

Lindy earned her Ph.D. in Planning, Governance, & Globalization from Virginia Tech. She also holds an M.S. in Global & International Education (Drexel University), a B.A. in International Studies and a B.A. in Spanish from Virginia Tech, and A.A.S in Business Administration.
