Falan Peters

Responsibilities  

Falan serves as the Global Engineering Intern for the Office of Global Engineering, Engagement, and Research (GEER). In her role, she serves as a liaison between the Global Engineering Ambassadors (GEA's) and the GEER office. Falan supports the promotion of international opportunities for engineering students by organizing tabling events, leading information sessions, and coordinating Ambassador activities.  

Background 

Falan is a senior majoring in mechanical engineering from Botetourt, Virginia. Falan traveled to Italy and Germany with the Rising Sophomore Abroad Program in 2024 and to the UK with Bridges, Builders, and Society in 2026. She joined the Global Engineering Ambassadors during her sophomore year. She has been involved in undergraduate research at VT including GrayUR and Design For Impact, where she is passionate about design challenges and repair processes. Falan has completed two internships with GE Vernova and is interested in pursuing a career in energy systems. She is excited to share global engineering opportunities with other VT engineers!
