Fabiola Rosales Sanchez

Responsibilities

Fabiola serves as the Graduate Assistant for Global Programs in the Office of Global Engineering, Education and Research (GEER). She supports the activities and initiatives of GEER and assists with program management and evaluation of the office's international programs. 

Education

Fabiola is pursuing a Ph.D. in Engineering Education in the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech. She holds an M.S. in Project Management from ESAN University in Peru and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Florida International University (FIU).

Background

Fabiola brings an interdisciplinary background in electrical engineering, project management, and engineering education. Her professional and academic experiences across the United States and Peru have shaped her interest in the experiences of international students in engineering.

Her research examines engineering competence development among international students, with particular attention to how their academic, professional, and cross-cultural experiences influence this process. Through her work, Fabiola seeks to contribute to more inclusive engineering education practices and learning environments that recognize international students’ experiences, strengths, and professional aspirations.

Fabiola also serves as an ambassador for the Cranwell International Center and has held several leadership positions in student organizations within her department. Through these roles, she supports student engagement, fosters a sense of belonging, and advocates for inclusive and welcoming academic communities.
