Fundamentals of Engineering Exam Information

Exam Format and Application Instructions
Application and test fees total $255.00 ($225 to NCEES and $30 to DPOR). The FE/EIt exam is a computer-based test (CPT) that each student schedules to take individually at a local Pearson VUE location. More information about the exam can be found at https://ncees.org/exams/fe-exam/. 

DPOR Registration
Applicants must also register with the Department of Occupational and Professional Regulations (DPOR). While there is no deadline associated with the application to DPOR, the Engineering in Training (EIT) Designation is not listed until the EIT Designation Application is satisfactorily completed.

After the Exam
Upon successful completion of the FE exam, the candidate will be emailed instructions for completing the EIT Designation Application through the Department of Occupational and Professional Regulations (DPOR). While there is no deadline associated with the application to the DPOR after passing the exam, the EIT license will not be issued until the EIT Designation Application is satisfactorily completed.

Students with Disabilities
