Headshot of Luiz Felipe Bromfman

Luiz Felipe Bromfman is a sophmore at Virginia Tech, pursuing a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering with a 3.89 GPA. Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Luiz is passionate about learning from people across different fields, believing that a diverse foundation strengthens his engineering skills.

Growing up, Luiz was inspired by Phineas from Phineas and Ferb, which fueled his love for building and experimenting. His passion for space exploration continues to drive his academic and career aspirations. He credits his father as his biggest role model, admiring his ambition and dedication in both life and career.

Beyond academics, Luiz enjoys reading philosophy, playing Water Polo, and playing the classical guitar. He listens to Brazilian rock music and counts The Grand Budapest Hotel as his favorite film. Though he never had a pet, he always wanted one.

At Virginia Tech, Luiz has actively engaged with the CEED program, attending weekly meetings during his first semester to ease his transition into college and grow as an engineer. Before coming to the U.S., he volunteered in Brazil, teaching programming weekly at a school in a favela.

Looking to the future, Luiz dreams of making a positive impact on space exploration. While he wouldn’t change anything about his past, he values every experience—good or bad—as something that has shaped him into the person he is today.
