Headshot of Evan Song

Evan Song is an academic sophomore at Virginia Tech, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering and Management with a 3.51 GPA. Hailing from Bristow, VA, Evan values the career opportunities and resources that Virginia Tech provides, which have played a significant role in his academic and professional growth.

Evan is passionate about construction management and aspires to graduate, earn his Professional Engineering License, and eventually work as a Project Manager for a general contractor. His dedication to STEM began in middle school, where his strength in math and science sparked his interest in pursuing an engineering-related career.

Outside the classroom, Evan enjoys golf, weightlifting, and spending time with friends. He is also actively involved in Greek Life, where he participates in community service projects, including assisting residents at a senior living community. Through Virginia Tech’s career fairs and engineering resources, Evan secured a summer internship, which has further prepared him for his future career.

Evan has a cat named Luna and a dog named Bo and grew up with two brothers. His favorite cartoon character is Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender, admiring his well-written redemption arc. Evan’s favorite music genre is rap, and his favorite film is The Batman. He looks up to his dad as a role model, inspired by his hard work and dedication.

While Evan appreciates his journey so far, if he could change one thing, he’d eliminate 8 a.m. classes from course schedules—and maybe add a few inches to his height.
