Kaayla Osborne

“You know how talented you are, let the people enjoy your talent as well”
Kaayla Osborne is a first-year student at Virginia Tech, pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with an impressive GPA of 3.94. Originally from Stafford, Virginia, Kaayla is thriving in the supportive and resource-rich environment at Virginia Tech. She appreciates the abundance of information available to her and the willingness of professors and peers to help her succeed and explore her interests.
Kaayla comes from a large family with seven siblings and has a beloved pitbull named Bruce. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, singing, and tackling 500+ piece puzzles. Her favorite cartoon character is Bubbles from *The Powerpuff Girls,* whom she admires for being both emotionally expressive and strong.
Kaayla's taste in music includes Indie and K-Pop, and she counts *Twilight* as her favorite film. While she doesn't have a specific role model, she is committed to being the best version of herself and helping others whenever possible.
From a young age, Kaayla knew she wanted to pursue a career in STEM, though her exact path was unclear. Today, her dream is to contribute to research and one day see her name on a published research paper. She is actively involved in the Pathways and STEP programs and is a member of the Digerati Living-Learning Program (LLP).
Kaayla is also passionate about giving back, frequently volunteering for CEED outreach events that promote STEM to high school and younger students. If she could change one thing, it would be to make the weather in Blacksburg a little less windy.
