Alec Amador is a sophomore studying Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech with an expected graduation in 2027. His academic interests include aerospace design and engineering innovation, and he currently serve as the Co-Lead for the Structures team in MachWorks, an engineering design team focused on aircraft development, as well as a general member of OLVT which is an engineering design team that designs and builds rockets.

Alec’s study abroad experiences include a program in Seoul, South Korea where he spent 9 months learning the Korean language as well as diving deep into the culture, as well as a program in Madrid, Spain, for 6 weeks where he also committed himself to deepening his understanding of the Spanish language and culture. Alec has also visited Puerto Rico several times, as his family is from there. His favorite global experience was living in Seoul, where he immersed myself in a vibrant new culture while gaining a fresh perspective on the world around him.
