Who are the Global Engineering Ambassadors
The Global Engineering Ambassadors are a selective group of enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated undergraduate and graduate engineering students who help the Global Engineering office (GEER) to support global experiences and initiatives for Virginia Tech’s engineering students. Ambassadors support those efforts by volunteering for approximately 10 hours every semester and developing professional skills. Sample activities include:
- Running information booths at the Global Education Fair in the fall semester and the Global Education Resource Fair in the spring semester
- Outreach to on-campus engineering organizations and engineering classes to promote global experiences
- Talking with prospective students and parents about global opportunities at the College of Engineering Open House in April
- Welcoming international exchange students to the college
- Giving presentations for Galileo and Hypatia groups
- Participating in global perspectives and communications training
If you are enthusiastic about global engineering and eager to share your experiences with others while helping other students achieve their goals, we hope you will apply!
