"Always try your best; if you try your best, there is nothing you can regret."

Alex Lammers is from Miami, Florida, and is a sophomore in Mechanical Engineering with a 3.70 GPA. Alex says the best thing about being a Virginia Tech Engineer is having a vast community of engineers from all different backgrounds. Alex has always dreamt of being an engineer, and now that she is at Virginia Tech, she dreams about finding happiness in her job as an engineer. If she could change one thing, it would be giving equal opportunities to every individual.

Alex was a member of the Hypatia Living Learning community her freshman year, and she will be a mentor for the rising freshman in engineering for Fall 2022. As a part of the sorority, Chi Omega, she served several volunteer projects throughout the year but especially supported Make a Wish as it is her sorority’s philanthropy.

Alex shared that her role models are her parents because they have worked hard to become who they are and she aspires to have that same perseverance. Alex’s favorite film is Gone Girl and she loves 80s music and Hispanic music. She enjoys going to the gym and going to the beach, and she has two dogs, Max and Niko. Alex’s favorite cartoon character is Jerry from Tom and Jerry because he would always get away from everything.
