Karla Estrada
"Follow your heart, listen to your inner voice, stop caring about what others think." -Roy T. Bennett

Karla Estrada is from Arlington, Virginia and is a senior in computer science with a GPA of 3.70. She says the best thing about being a Virginia Tech engineering student is having opportunities available to explore different passions and skills in her field. Now that she is at Virginia Tech, she plans on owning her own tech company.

When Karla was in middle school, she dreamed of being a vet since she loves being around animals, but she eventually began wanting to be a computer scientist. Karla was also a part of the pathway advisory council where she helped set up a toy drive. Additionally, they set up a feminie hygiene drive for her local community. In her free time she enjoys hiking, listening to music, specifically Spanish music, and traveling!

Karla says that her role models are her mother, Teresa Romero, and her sister, Susie Estrada, for always working hard to help her achieve her dreams. In addition, she mentioned her favorite cartoon character is Kim from Kim Possible because she grew up watching this cartoon and enjoyed the aspects of adventure and action.
