"A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for." - John A. Shedd

Drew Perry is from Woodbridge, Virginia and is a senior in Computer Science with a GPA of 3.52. He says the best thing about being a Virginia Tech engineer is the abundance of support his faculty and peers have provided over the years.  When he was in middle school, he wanted to be a lawyer, but then he realized he can stand up for people no matter what career he chooses. Now that he is at Virginia Tech, he wants to be a positive academic influence for other students. Drew says that if he could change one thing, he would go back in time to 2018, not to redo things, but to re-experience the happiness of those years with his brothers.

Drew is involved with the college of engineering by mentoring younger peers within his major. He knows that not everyone excels immediately and it is important to understand that everyone struggles. He volunteers with his fraternity, the GERMAN Club, in many philanthropy and community service events within Virginia Tech. In his free time, Drew enjoys photography and reading.

Drew says his role model was his oldest brother, Jr. He was truly and unapologetically himself. He taught Drew what it meant to be kind, especially to those who need it most. Including Jr, Drew comes from a family of five boys. He also mentioned that his favorite cartoon character is Courage the Cowardly Dog because he shows that being brave doesn’t mean you’re not scared. Drew also shared that his favorite genre of music is Indie/Alternative, and his favorite film is Forrest Gump.
