Alisia Catalan

Alisia Catalan is from Herndon, Virginia, and is a second year in Civil Engineering with a 3.94 GPA. She says the best thing about being a Virginia Tech engineer is the community of peers and faculty willing to help.  When she was in middle school, she dreamt about being a vet, but after a job in an animal hospital she realized that it wasn't for her. Now that she is at Virginia Tech, she dreams about making a significant positive difference in a community. Alisia said if she could change one thing, it would be Covid because she missed a year of being at VT because of it.

Since Alisia has been at Virginia Tech, she’s been a member of Galipatia Living Learning community. In her free time,  she likes to read. Alisia says her role model is her mother because she has always put 110% of herself into everything she does, and Alisia strives to do the same. Alisia has two siblings, and two cats named Yin and Yang. She also mentioned that her favorite cartoon character is Gir from Invader Zim because his voice is adorable. Alisia shared that her favorite genre of music is pop punk.
