Sasha Mintz is from Poquoson, Virginia, and is a junior in Physics and Aerospace Engineering with a 3.586 GPA. She says the best thing about a Virginia Tech engineering student is that there is an amazing amount of research and it is amazing to see those involved with their various passions so early in their career. When Sasha was in middle school, she dreamed about being an Astrophysicist; mysteries of the universe have interested her since she was a child. Now that she is at Virginia Tech, she dreams about pursuing a career that she loves and has a passion for and sharing that passion with others. If Sasha could change one thing, she would change how some people approach life.

For the Fall of 2021, Sasha was a CEED peer mentor for General Engineering freshmen students. Currently, Sasha is the president of the Society of Women in Aviation and Space Exploration (SWASE). She mentioned that she loves volunteering for tabling events for all of the organizations she is involved in. She says he loves talking about studying abroad and loves spreading information about undergraduate research. In her free time, she enjoys reading and playing the piano.

Sasha says her role model is anyone who has a passion for what they do. She also says her favorite cartoon character is Tina from Bob’s Burgers because her lines are always hilarious and because she thinks she looked like her back in middle school.
