“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

Fasil Gebreab is from Arlington, Virginia, and is a Senior in Electrical Engineering, with a 3.60 GPA. Fasil says that the best thing about being a Virginia Tech Engineer is that you can change a dream into reality by participating in your field of work and sharing ideas with friends and professors. When Fasil was in middle school, he dreamed about traveling the world and seeing nature. He also wanted to be a scientist. Now that he is at Virginia Tech, he dreams about finishing his master's and Ph.D. in different fields of studies in the future.

Currently, Fasil is planning to join clean the earth programs as a volunteer service. He likes to read books, go hiking and take pictures during his free time.

Fasil shared that one of his role models is Stephen Hawking because he changed the world even with his limitations and that showed him that he could do anything if he set his mind to it. His favorite cartoon character is Rich Sanchez because he is smart and funny and is not afraid to do anything he wants as long as it is morally satisfying and truthful.
