Michelle Hinojosa-Flores

Michelle Hinojosa-Flores is a sophomore at Virginia Tech, pursuing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a GPA of 3.45. Hailing from Woodbridge, VA, she enjoys playing soccer with friends and watching TV shows. Michelle is active in the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and has served as a mentor for Hypatia. She also participates in volunteer work, including involvement in alumni events and the Big Event student outreach committee.

Inspired by her mother’s journey from a janitor to an EKG technician, Michelle aspires to make her parents proud by graduating and securing a good job. Her favorite cartoon character is Lisa from *The Simpsons* due to Lisa's dedication to education and love for her family. Michelle enjoys pop and Latin music and the film *Hidden Figures*. Looking ahead, she aims to improve her public speaking skills and stay connected with Virginia Tech.
