Noah Bigio
"Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius
Noah David Bigio Araya hails from Haiti and is currently navigating his sophomore year at Virginia Tech, where he's majoring in Electrical Engineering. He maintains a solid GPA of 3.5 and hopes to pursue a Master's in Electrical Engineering.
Noah finds the best part of being a VA Tech Engineer to be the incredible resources and workstations available, like the InVenTs studio and the FRITH lab. These spaces have allowed him to learn new programs and create projects he never imagined possible. As a Freshman Assistant at the InVenTs studio, Noah is actively involved with CEED, contributing to projects like a 3D diorama of Burruss Hall and a banner for Galileo and Hypatia.
Noah enjoys a variety of hobbies, including illustrating cartoons, reading novels and art books, and creating laser-cut works. His favorite cartoon character is Frieren from Frieren: Beyond Journey's End due to her complexity and lovable nature. He’s a fan of Electronic and Rock music, and his favorite film is Akira. Inspired by the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto, Noah draws cartoon worlds of his own.
Growing up, Noah dreamed of becoming an engineer but only decided on Electrical Engineering in high school when he developed an interest in electricity and technology. Now, he dreams of graduating with a master's degree and landing a well-paying job, as well as visiting Japan someday.
Noah has a younger brother and is deeply involved in volunteer work. Back in Haiti, he helped orphanages distribute school supplies and packed supply boxes for those affected by natural disasters. At Virginia Tech, he volunteered at the VT STEM and College Fair at Francis C. Hammond Middle School.
One thing Noah wishes he could change is selling his video game collection during his younger years, as many of the titles he sold are now expensive on the second-hand market.
With his creativity, dedication, and passion for engineering, Noah is on a promising path to make significant contributions in his field.
