CEED Women's Preview Weekend
Note: We are currently planning to hold this event in person, but may need to move online depending on the COVID-19 situation.
What is Women’s Preview Weekend?
Women’s Preview Weekend (WPW) provides an opportunity for young women who have been offered admission to the College of Engineering to visit the campus and make an informed decision about attending Virginia Tech. During Preview Weekend, students meet current students and faculty and get a first-hand look at Virginia Tech and the College of Engineering.
When is Women's Preview Weekend?
Saturday, April 9 - Sunday, April 10. Check in will start at 3:30PM after Hokie Focus events conclude, so you can attend both events.
All women applying to the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech will receive save-the-date information about Women’s Preview Weekend in January. This will be followed by an invitation to register via the email address submitted on the college application for those students who are offered admission. Registration will remain open until the event is full.
NOTE: Hokie Focus is the same weekend as Women’s Preview Weekend. If you are also participating in Hokie Focus, please register for the Saturday session of Hokie Focus.
Where will guests stay?
Preview Weekend guests will stay on campus, in the room of a female undergraduate engineering student who is part of the Hypatia living-learning community in Hoge Hall.
How will guests and hostesses meet?
Hosts will text, email or call their guests to introduce themselves prior to the Preview Weekend, to arrange a meeting time and to discuss details of your visit.
