Do you get tired of the same old thing summer after summer? If the answer is “yes” then you may want to attend Imagination 2019. You will be introduced to the exciting and fun “stuff” we do at Virginia Tech. We have engineers, scientists and college students ready to help you explore the world of science, technology and engineering . . . Not by watching, but by DOING!
Who is Eligible?
Rising 7th or 8th graders are invited to apply. Preference will be given to first time applicants.
When Should I Plan to Arrive and Depart?
Imagination Day Camp will host two weeklong sessions: July 15 - 19 & 22 - 26, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the Virginia Tech campus. Free transportation will be provided from Roanoke to Blacksburg and return during the second week (7/22 - 7/26) ONLY.
What Should I Bring?
Wear what you usually wear to school, but keep in mind that some of the labs may be messy. Virginia Tech is a large campus, so you will do a lot of walking - comfortable, closed-toed shoes are a must. You will use our computers and laboratory supplies. Lunch will be provided at one of Virginia Tech's dining halls.
What Happens If I Get Sick or Hurt?
All students are covered by comprehensive accident and hospitalization insurance from the time they arrive until the time they leave campus. The Schiffert Student Health Center on campus is able to handle most problems. Please remember insurance will only cover the time between your arrival to and departure from campus.
