Adolfo Melgar-Toralla
Adolfo Melgar-Toralla is a senior in Civil Engineering, with a GPA of 3.58, from Gurnee, Illinois. For him, the best thing about being a VA Tech Engineer is the number of resources available to students, such as mentors and career fairs. Adolfo’s desire to become an engineer started all the way back to middle school and has only strengthened since then, now including the dream of obtaining a PE license and to travel the 7 wonders of the world.
Through his experience at Virginia Tech, Adolfo was part of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, along with volunteering at his local church on the weekends. One of his role models would be Elon Musk, whose hard work and large breadth of knowledge Adolfo connects with and strives to reach. Outside of class, Adolfo enjoys playing volleyball, hanging out with his friends, and tutoring online.
