Oral Walker Jr.
Oral Dale Walker Jr is from Fairfax, Virginia, and a junior in Computer Engineering with a 3.47 GPA. He says the best thing about being a Virginia Tech engineering student is the culture and community surrounding the school. He loves the fact that everyone truly enjoys being a Hokie and interacting with one another. When Oral was in middle school, he dreamt of being a professional soccer player. Now that he is at Virginia Tech, he dreams about making an impact as an engineer whether it is making gadgets or creating new software, all while staying active and playing a competitive level of soccer. If he could change one thing about his life, he would have met his amazing friends and teachers from Tech earlier in his life.
As a freshman at Virginia Tech, he attended some of the various events set up by CEED and COE catered toward career development and overall mental health. Moreover, he was involved in the Big Event and is planning to be involved for the next two years. In his free time, Oral enjoys playing soccer and playing drums.
Oral mentioned that his father is one of his role models because he inspires him to be the best person he could be, to take pride in his character, to always put family and friends first, and to go after what he wants with his life. Oral also says his favorite character is Zuko from Avatar because he has great character development.
