“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That’s why it is called the present.” - Master Oogway

Carlos Urbina is from Burke, Virginia, and is a junior in Computer Science with a 3.92 GPA. He says the best thing about being a Virginia Tech engineering student is having classmates who inspire him to always do his best. When Carlos was in middle school, he dreamed of being an astrophysicist like Neil DeGrasse Tysons. Now that Carlos is at Virginia Tech, he dreams of getting a job in software design relating to space travel or anything space related. If he could change one thing, he would provide cheap or free sustainable electricity to the world.

As a freshman at Virginia Tech, he was a part of the Galileo Living Learning Community. He is also a president of the Rubik’s Cube Club and describes himself as a competitive powerlifter.

Carlos mentioned that his role model is his father because he challenges him to be the best version of himself, and has always supported him in everything he does. Carlos also mentioned that his favorite cartoon character is Guts from Berserk because he inspires Carlos to always keep moving forward.
