“We are all winging it. No one knows what they are doing.”

Jada Palmer is from Williamsburg, Virginia and is a fifth year in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Green Engineering and a GPA of 3.55. She says the best thing about being a Virginia Tech engineering student is the opportunity to do research. Jada dreams of helping people travel the world. Starting in middle school, Jada wanted to help underserved students earn an education and close the inequality gap in education. She is involved in the College of Engineering through the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE), and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Jada also spends her time volunteering through the EAGER Project. Some of her hobbies include coding, cooking plant based meals, and water sports.

Jada says her role model is Judge Lynn Toler and her favorite cartoon character is Princess Tiana because she has goals and the work ethic to achieve them. Jada also mentioned that her favorite genre of music is Neo Soul and her favorite film is For Colored Girls.
