"Hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of inner strength.” - Uncle Iroh, ATLA

Madison Coleman is a Junior in Chemical Engineering, with a GPA of 3.42, from The Woodlands, Texas. For her, the best things about being a VT Engineer is the academic support provided by COE students, the opportunities available to share experiences and knowledge with underclassmen, the support from students, advisors, and alumni of the COE, and the career fairs students are encouraged to go to. When she was younger, Madison dreamed of a job that would allow her to travel around the world and go on adventures. Now, as a college student, she is exploring engineering as a way of allowing her to work internationally.

As a freshman, Madison lived within Galipatia as a member of Hypatia. She has also participated on TEAM Malawi as secretary, a member and past mentee of AiChE, and is currently an Alpha Omega Epsilon member. She also participates with Huckleberry Trail clean ups.

One of Madison’s role models is her father, who is also an engineer. She finds him to be hard working and is inspired from his fight through prejudice to earn his degree and hone a successful career. Madison admires how he always gives more than he receives and behaves honorably even when pressured by others. Outside of class, Madison finds enjoyment through yoga, playing the violin, reading, and listening to a wide variety of different music. Staying true to her dreams, she also loves travel and learning about different cultures.
