Mounira Njinjie

"Comparison is the thief of joy."
Mounira Njinjie, a second-year student from Leesburg, Virginia, is pursuing a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with aspirations for a Master's degree in the future. Mounira is thrilled by the wealth of resources and opportunities available at Virginia Tech, from clubs and internships to mentors that ease the transition into engineering. With a GPA of 3.72, she appreciates the vibrant community and the chance to be part of it.
Mounira has four siblings, including one brother and three sisters. While she does not have any pets at the moment, she dreams of owning a cat. Her hobbies include baking, listening to mystery podcasts, reading books, and hitting the gym. She cherishes her childhood memories with Hello Kitty, which remains her favorite cartoon character. Mounira enjoys R&B music and her favorite film is Mean Girls.
Her role model is her mother, who has been a constant source of inspiration due to her hardworking and driven nature. Mounira’s childhood dreams of becoming a fashion designer, influenced by her mother’s modeling career, have evolved into a desire to use her engineering skills to support underrepresented and underfunded individuals. At Virginia Tech, she is involved with CEED, having participated in their mentorship program and attended various College of Engineering events. Mounira also volunteers in her hometown, participating in clean-ups and at a local religious institution. If she could change one thing, it would be her indecisiveness, which she feels sometimes hinders her decision-making and risk-taking.
