CEED is currently looking for new mentors for the 2024-2025 school year!

The Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity (CEED) is looking for a dynamic group of undergraduate students to serve as paid peer mentors to incoming first-year freshmen students in the College of Engineering during the Fall 2023 semester. If you enjoyed being a mentee or you want to help improve the program for next year's mentees, consider applying to be a mentor in 2024-2025.

The mentoring programs are one part of CEED’s on-going effort in creating a support network to increase the retention of a diverse group of students in the College of Engineering. Our goal is for the results of these efforts to benefit not only the student, but also the University and society. If you have a strong commitment to Ut Prosim, That I May Serve, and are enthusiastic about helping to enhance the first-year experience of College of Engineering Students, we invite your application.

The position begins in Spring 2024. Before you consider applying for a mentor position, please read the job description, requirements, and expectations carefully provided in the document linked below to make sure you can fully commit to the role.

To be considered for the Peer Mentor position you must complete an application by no later than  Friday, January 26, 2024, at 11:50 PM.

Interested students should complete the New Peer Mentor Application. If you have any questions about the responsibilities or requirements for serving as a Peer Mentor, please contact any of the current Peer Mentors, Peer Leaders, Olivia, or Dr. Katey.

Applications cannot be saved and submitted later. We strongly suggest that you review the application first (attached), type your essay response(s) into Word, and then paste it into your application when you are ready to submit. After clicking the arrows at the bottom of the page, the application is submitted, and you will be unable to edit it. 
Applications require a resume submission in a PDF format.
Applications will be reviewed and chosen candidates will be invited to interview on Saturday, February 10, 2024 and Sunday, February 11 ^th, 2024. Preliminary decisions will be made in late February.
