Joanna Aguilar
Major: Materials Science and Engineering
Joanna is from Stafford, Virginia. She is an ambassador for the Materials Science and Engineering major and loves meeting and inspiring K-12 students to pursue an engineering career. Outside of academics she loves to dance and travel.
Lisandro Campos Martinez
Major: Building Construction
Lisandro is from Springfield, Virginia. He's interested in residential construction and hopes to build his house one day. Lisandro also enjoys lifting weights and building lego sets. He is excited about the opportunity to intern at John Moriarty & Associates.
Jennifer Fadul Marin
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Jennifer is from Richmond, Virginia. She is heavily interested in how common househould objects work which is what got her into mechanical engineering. She loves problem solving on subjects she hasnt learned about yet peaking her interest in research fields. Jennifer's favorite hobbies include dancing and baking, sometimes even at the same time.
Ayia Ismael
Major: Computer Engineering
Ayia is from Alexandria, VA and is majoring in Computer Engineering while minoring in Computer Science and Data & Decisions. She has been a mentor for both the summer Clark Scholars and Galipatia. She has also been a chapter officer for the National Society of Black Engineers since 2021.
Julieanna Lara-Vasquez
Major: Biological Systems Engineering
Julieanna is from Alleghany County, Virginia. She loves science and anything involving environmental issues. Julieanna enjoys hiking, kayaking, and drawing in her free time.
Alexandra Murias Roman
Major: Biomedical Engineering
Alex is from Richmond, Virginia. She is currently doing undergraduate research in the Kevin P. Granata Biomechanics Lab and is an Associate for the Consulting Group at Virginia Tech. She is a part of the College of Engineering Dean's Team and the Undergrad Biomedical Engineering Society (UBES).
Jose Pineda-Rubi
Major: Civil Engineering
Jose is from Woodbridge Virginia. He is very passionate about construction and would like to build his own house one day. He loves watching and playing basketball and is looking forward to a construction internship experience.
Jose Salome-Doroteo
Major: Biomedical Engineering
Jose is from Arlington, Virginia. He is very passionate about the medical field and hopes to work on biomedical devices in the future. He also enjoys spending his free time watching movies and shows.
Kelvin Diaz
Major: Building Construction
Kelvin is from Alexandria, Virginia. He is eager to start his career in construction. He wishes to become a superintendent for a commercial general contractor. He has completed two internship experiences and is looking forward to more internship opportunities.
