Portable Fellowships
Portable fellowships, often referred to as external fellowships, are funded by institutions or agencies outside of a student's college or university.

Funding Flexiblity
Portable fellowships often allow recipients the flexibility to choose their home institutions and programs of study. Funding is less likely to be dependent on affiliation with a particular college or university.
