ENGR 4189 - Green Engineering, Culture & Business in Peru
Term: Spring 2025
Location: Peru
Language: English
This course offered on the Blacksburg campus includes a ten-day trip to Peru following the course in 2025 (dates to be determined).
Description: The core purpose of this program is to expose engineering students to the application of green production techniques in Peru along with the cultural identity that drives their implementation. It is common for multinational companies to have divisions located globally. This interdisciplinary course will focus on the cultural and economic influences on how business is done in Peru as compared to the United States. Special emphasis will focus on environmentally conscious manufacturing approaches commonly used. Guided tours will provide insight into how cultural beliefs are demonstrated within business production methods, reflecting best practices in green manufacturing. In addition, students will have the opportunity to visit cultural spots.
