For Spring 2025: Computer Science at the Steger Center (CS@SC)

The CS@SC program aims at providing CS@VT students the opportunity to understand the international aspects of the CS field through living, studying, and building software solutions abroad. The semester-long program offers different courses for students to experience a multitude of CS topics through class sessions, real-life projects with international partners and clients, and coordinated travel time. In addition to the Italian language course that’ll be offered at the SC (which satisfies Pathway requirements), there will be 3 CS courses offered:

  • CS 3654 (Data Analytics & Visualizations)
  • CS 3714 (Mobile Software Development)
  • CS 4704 (Software Engineering Capstone)

The Steger Center offers a unique Living-Learning Community (LLC) for VT students, which integrates classrooms, dorms, and community spaces in an immersive international experience. CS students will work with partners and stakeholders from the surrounding communities and universities on building software solutions for international users. Students will get the chance to visit the neighboring areas to research different user behaviors when it comes to software development.

Application deadline: September 1, 2024
