Representing a tri-partnership between Rolls-Royce, Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia, the Rolls-Royce Summer Internship is a unique experience that will differentiate you from the crowd.
The Opportunity
The Rolls-Royce Summer Internship provides students with a unique entry into real-world engineering objectives and the chance to make an impact from the start. In summer 2025, we are planning for placements in the United Kingdom and Indianapolis, Indiana. Engineering students will gain valuable skills, learning directly from some of the most respected and highly qualified engineers in the industry.
The Details
- A three-month summer internship, May - August 2025, located in the United Kingdom
- Internship Dates: internship placements are 12 weeks, from mid-May to mid-August 2025
- Receive university and Rolls-Royce support for your internship experience

Required Qualifications
- Attending either the University of Virginia or Virginia Tech
- Pursuing an engineering degree and current junior status (must be returning to VT in Fall 2025 for your senior year)
- Engineering majors with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Important Traits
- Open to a variety of engineering majors: aerospace, mechanical, computer, software, electrical, electronics, systems, or similar
- Well-rounded life experience – academically, socially, and in any previous work situations
- Excellent communication skills, a flexible attitude, and strong initiative
- Experience working as part of a team
- Hands-on experience working on a project (in school or beyond)
- Involvement in community service
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Excellent verbal skills and written skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results
