Give to Global Engineering, Engagement and Research
During the 2016-2017 academic year, 565 Engineering students participated in an international experience, visiting 47 countries. The experiences range from for-credit study, to internships, service learning, and research.
College of Engineering faculty members are busy collaborating with faculty in universities abroad and have exciting ventures they are trying to grow. These relationships have direct impact on students’ education and experiences. A major obstacle is the lack of funding for faculty mobility to develop these international relationships.
Having global and cross-cultural perspectives are increasingly demanded of engineers. As a resource office for international opportunities for students, faculty, corporate partners and alumni the GEER Office is committed to finding ways for students to go abroad through the development of programs and providing scholarships as well as promoting faculty mobility.
Giving to GEER through this on-line pledge form will help us develop innovative international programs, assist faculty in developing relationships abroad, and help an increasing number of students acquire the skills needed to become global engineers for the 21st century.
