Ziad ElGataa, a Junior pursuing a B.S. in Computer Engineering, is a driven individual with a GPA of 3.4, hailing from Woodbridge, Virginia. His journey as a Virginia Tech Engineer is illuminated by the vibrant tapestry of collaboration and networking with individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering an environment ripe for innovation. With a fervent passion for technology and exploration, Ziad envisions himself at the forefront of space exploration, developing cutting-edge technologies that propel humanity towards the stars.

Beyond his academic pursuits, Ziad finds solace and excitement in a myriad of hobbies, from the adrenaline rush of Mixed Martial Arts to the intellectual stimulation of coding and gaming. His life is enriched by the presence of two sisters, grounding him in familial bonds.

Reflecting on his childhood aspirations, Ziad once dreamed of venturing into the cosmos as an astronaut. Now, his ambitions have evolved, fueled by the possibilities of technological advancement. At Virginia Tech, he participated in the CEED STEP program and contributes to the vibrant community within the West Ambler Johnston Residential College.

Outside of academia, Ziad dedicates his time to volunteer service at his local Mosque, Alnoor, organizing fundraisers and networking events. His commitment to giving back to the community underscores his values of empathy and compassion.

As he charts his course at Virginia Tech, Ziad remains steadfast in his pursuit of excellence, driven by the desire to leave an indelible mark on the world through his contributions to space exploration and technological innovation.
