"Life, if well lived, is long enough.”

Luka Nieste, a sophomore pursuing a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech, has always been driven to excel in his academic pursuits. With a stellar GPA of 3.92, he takes great pride in his accomplishments. Originally hailing from Arlington, VA, Luka finds solace in being part of the vibrant Virginia Tech engineering community, where he can meet like-minded individuals who share his passion for innovation and problem-solving.

Outside of his studies, Luka has a diverse set of interests and hobbies that keep him engaged and motivated. He enjoys working on his car, honing his mechanical skills, and is also an avid scuba diver, hiker, and biker, embracing the adventurous side of life. With a penchant for music, he finds solace in rap and rock genres, which often energize and inspire him during his endeavors.

While Luka's academic pursuits and hobbies keep him fulfilled, he is not alone in life. He shares his home with two beloved canine companions, Lola and Tito, who brighten his days with their playful presence. However, having grown up without siblings, Luka values the friendships he's built at Virginia Tech, cherishing the sense of community and camaraderie that he has found within the engineering circles.

Luka's dreams have evolved over time. In middle school, he aspired to be a fighter pilot for the navy, captivated by the thrill of flying. But since arriving at Virginia Tech, his aspirations have shifted towards engineering a future in the world of motorsports. His ultimate dream is to work with a Formula 1 team, contributing to the design and development of cutting-edge racing cars.

Despite his determination and achievements, Luka acknowledges his imperfections. One thing he wishes to change about himself is his tendency to procrastinate, as it occasionally hampers his productivity. Nevertheless, he remains optimistic about his ability to grow and improve as he continues to pursue his dreams at Virginia Tech and beyond.
