Jonathan Moore

Jonathan Moore is from Fairfax, Virginia, and is a Senior in the accelerated master's in Civil Engineering with a 4.0 GPA. He says the best thing about being a Virginia Tech engineer is the network. He says the Virginia Tech community is extremely helpful and ready to help you accomplish your goals.  When he was in middle school, he had no idea what he wanted to do in middle school. Currently, as he’s completing his B.S. he still doesn't know what he wants to do. Jonathan explains how he’s still trying to expose himself to as much as possible. Now that he is at Virginia Tech, he would like to get his Ph.D. and learn about some obscure topic and then go to coffee shops and badger people with information.

Since Jonathan has been at Virginia Tech, he’s TA for Fluid Mechanics for CEE and he volunteers by occasionally tutoring other students. In his free time, Jonathan likes to go hiking, read mystery books, and play Stratego.

Jonathan says his role model is his mother because she is the foundation for much of who he is today. Jonathan has three younger sisters, a dog named Owen, and two cats named Larkspur and Esper. He also mentioned that his favorite cartoon character is Bugs Bunny because he likes the way he says, "What's up, Doc?". Jonathan also shared that his favorite genre of music is Alternative Rock.
